A short time ago – I sent out a Constant Contact telling the story of how Bridge Leader Donna Landon ended up bringing together a mother from Ukraine, Zina, and a mother from Moscow, Tatiana. The two women, hugging each other, spoke animatedly in Russian, the language they both shared, for two hours. It was a heart-warming scene.

Ministry of the Month: German Town Global Connection
Bridge Leader Norm Gordon had a heart for people outside the church. So much so that he left his full-time position at an established church, the one where he grew up. And through joining meet-up groups and meeting people in coffee shops, Norm has gathered together a group of people now calling themselves The German Town Connection. Through game nights, helping each other in practical ways, camping trips, and serving together, they have become a Christ-following community. When the pandemic hit, they were ready to serve their community by delivering food to people in quarantine and local food pantries. It has been all about relationships–with the principal of a local school and lots of other local leaders. Thank you for supporting Norm and his group as they learn how to disciple others and continue serving.

As the Executive Director of Bridges, Jim acknowledges the increasing loneliness, fear, and division among Americans. However, he also believes God is doing something new. “Together, we really can transform America,” says Jim.
His passion is to build tools that empower multi-vocational leaders who make disciples and start Christ-following communities in the many post-Christian subcultures of America. In this way, he hopes to see these communities multiply positive social impact throughout relational networks and local neighborhoods.
